Dr Nasiphi Moya has been confirmed as the mayoral candidate for the City of Tshwane ahead of the 2026 local government elections. The announcement forms part of ActionSA’s early preparations for the capital.

ActionSA confirmed that Dr Nasiphi Moya will lead its campaign in the City of Tshwane.

Moya is the current Mayor of Tshwane and is expected to contest the election on a platform focused on governance stability and service delivery.

The party says her nomination reflects its approach to city management, positioning itself as a governance-focused alternative in Tshwane. It argues that the metro still faces infrastructure challenges and financial strain.

The party says the city needs steady administration. It also calls for stronger accountability and long-term planning. It believes short-term political changes have contributed to instability in the past.

Supporters of Moya say her leadership has helped stabilise parts of the municipality. They also argue that continuity is needed to sustain reforms already underway.

Her nomination places her at the centre of a closely watched electoral race. Tshwane remains one of the country’s most politically significant metros.

The upcoming election is expected to focus on service delivery and financial management. Governance performance will also be a key issue.
