Bafana Bafana have arrived in Pachuca, Mexico, where they will complete their final preparations ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The squad travelled from South Africa on a journey of just over 20 hours, including a refuelling stop, before reaching their base camp. They are now based in Pachuca, which will serve as their training headquarters during the tournament build-up.

The camp will be used for training sessions, recovery work and tactical preparation as the team adapts to local conditions such as altitude and climate. The technical staff will use the coming days to focus on acclimatisation and match readiness.

Bafana are also set to play a warm-up fixture against Jamaica as part of their preparation programme before the tournament begins. The match will form part of the final assessments ahead of competitive action.

The arrival follows earlier logistical delays affecting travel arrangements for members of the technical and support staff. Despite this, the full playing squad is now in camp and preparations are continuing as planned.

Head coach Hugo Broos is overseeing the build-up, with players already involved in initial settling-in activities before moving into full training intensity. Emphasis will be placed on tactical organisation, shape and overall conditioning in the lead up to the tournament.

The squad features a mix of experienced players and younger talent, reflecting a balance between stability and squad development. All players have integrated into camp and are available for selection.

South Africa has been drawn in Group A at the World Cup, where they will face Mexico, South Korea and a European play-off winner. The group is expected to provide a demanding test at the global level.

Training continues in Pachuca as Bafana Bafana enter the final stretch of their preparation phase, with further updates expected as the team progresses towards the tournament.
