Boy Mamabolo has entered the race to become the next mayor of Polokwane after the Born To Win (BTW) political movement today announced him as its mayoral candidate for the 2026 Local Government Elections.

The party said Mamabolo, its founder and president, will lead its campaign with a focus on improving service delivery and addressing the needs of local communities.

Mamabolo, a former Member of Parliament who served from 2019 to 2024, is also a community activist from Seshego. The party said his experience in public service and community development makes him well placed to lead the municipality.

Born To Win said that Mamabolo has, through the Boy Mamabolo Foundation, supported initiatives to revive school sport to promote youth development and strengthen communities.

If elected, the party said his administration would focus on restoring public confidence in local government and improving basic services.

Its election priorities include reliable access to clean water, better roads and modern infrastructure. The party also pledged fair and affordable municipal tariffs for pensioners, unemployed people and vulnerable households.

Born To Win further committed to providing RDP houses to qualifying beneficiaries. It also promised to prioritise employment and tender opportunities for South Africans.

The movement said reviving school sport would remain a key priority to empower young people and help reduce crime.

According to the party, these commitments form part of its “Better Polokwane, Better Tomorrow” vision, which aims to improve service delivery and build a city that residents can be proud of.

The party has called on residents to support its campaign ahead of the local government elections.
