Satewave Technologies and South African investment group Afribiz have signed a strategic partnership.
The deal aims to expand technology and clean-energy solutions across South Africa and other African markets.
The partnership was signed at Satewave Technologies’ offices yesterday.
The companies have established Afribiz Future Tech (Pty) Ltd as a jointly owned business.
The new venture will focus on several emerging technology sectors. These include electric vehicles, EV charging infrastructure, solar and renewable energy, medical equipment, telecommunications and computer hardware.
The initial electric vehicle brands associated with the partnership include Geely, Firefly and Hongqi.
The companies said the venture would not only bring new technologies and products to African markets.
It will also focus on creating jobs, developing skills and attracting investment.
Potential employment opportunities are expected across sales, engineering, technical support, installation, maintenance, logistics and warehousing.
The venture will also create opportunities linked to renewable energy and EV charging infrastructure.
Satewave, which has its origins in Hong Kong and currently operates in Zimbabwe, will bring international technology, product and technical capabilities to the partnership.
Afribiz, a South African-founded infrastructure and investment group, brings more than two decades of experience across infrastructure, construction, property, energy, mining and information and communications technology.

Afribiz will also contribute its African market experience, business-development capabilities and stakeholder networks.
Afribiz President Dr Collen Mashawana said Africa needed to play a meaningful role in industries and technologies shaping the future.
“This partnership is about bringing global innovation together with African capability to create jobs, develop skills, attract investment and build sustainable businesses,” Mashawana said.
Satewave representative Zhou Zhonggou said the company saw significant opportunities across Africa.
“Together with Afribiz, we want to introduce innovative technologies while building sustainable businesses that contribute to local economies and create opportunities for communities,” he said.
The companies said Afribiz Future Tech would seek partnerships with governments, financial institutions, investors, technology manufacturers, developers, energy companies and healthcare institutions as it expands.
The venture is expected to combine Satewave’s international technology capabilities with Afribiz’s African market networks.
The companies said this would support investment, localisation and economic growth.
Their broader ambition is to connect global innovation with African opportunities.
They also aim to build a technology business capable of creating jobs and supporting sustainable economic development.
