Patrick Maswanganyi is set to leave Orlando Pirates after the club reached an agreement with Bahrain Premier League side Alkhaldiya Sports Club for his transfer.

The 28-year-old playmaker leaves the Buccaneers after becoming a firm favourite among the club’s supporters.

Maswanganyi remained an important part of the technical team’s plans for the season. However, after discussions with the player and his representatives, he made it clear that he wanted to pursue a new opportunity abroad.

In recognition of his service to the club and his ambitions for the next chapter of his career, Pirates agreed not to stand in his way.

A transfer was subsequently concluded with Alkhaldiya Sports Club.

Maswanganyi, known as “Tito”, leaves after making a lasting impression both on and off the field.

From his first appearance in the famous black and white jersey, he gave the Ghost plenty of moments to celebrate and represented the club with pride.

He departs as a league champion and a firm favourite among supporters.

The club also praised him for understanding the responsibility that comes with representing Orlando Pirates.

Pirates thanked Maswanganyi for his dedicated service and wished him every success in Bahrain and in the next chapter of his career.
