Known to many as a jazz singer and content creator from Mzansi’s Greatest Family, Tebogo “Tiny” Nkoane is embracing a new chapter in her musical journey after venturing into gospel music, a move she describes as a calling.

Popularly known as TT, the singer recently released her debut gospel album, Sione Number 1, marking what she believes is a natural transition shaped by faith and purpose.

Speaking to The News Desk, TT said music has always been central to her life and that her years in jazz helped prepare her for this moment.

“I always knew that I would end up performing gospel songs and I was waiting for the right time. I feel God prepared me through every stage of my journey before leading me fully into gospel music. I wanted my transition to be genuine and spirit-led, not forced. Today I can honestly say gospel is where my heart truly belongs,” she said.

TT explained that her passion for music began at an early age and that singing has always meant more to her than simply entertaining audiences.

“For me, music carries purpose. It is there to heal, uplift and minister to people. Whenever I see audiences connecting with the music during performances, it reminds me why I started this journey in the first place,” she said.

Affectionately known as “Lasborn Ya Bo Kereke”, TT said the response to her gospel music has exceeded expectations.

“The support from fans across South Africa and beyond has been incredible. What touches me the most is hearing testimonies from people who say the music encouraged them, strengthened their faith, or helped them through difficult moments,” she added.

She credited her family as her greatest source of strength and inspiration. TT said her husband, David Nkoane, plays a significant role in supporting her vision both creatively and personally, while her children continue to motivate her daily.

“We work together in almost everything we do. Together as Mzansi’s Greatest Family, we inspire one another every day,” she said.

The album was produced in collaboration with Creative Crew, although TT was also actively involved in the production and creative direction of the project.

Looking ahead, the musician hopes to collaborate with gospel heavyweights such as Ntokozo Mbambo and Spirit of Praise, citing their consistency, impact and spiritual depth as inspiration.

“One thing people should know is that this journey is bigger than music for me. My mission is to inspire hope, bring families together, and remind people that God never changes no matter what life looks like,” she said.
